10.03.06 - National Adult Baseball Association World Series

October 3-14, 2006 Tempe, AZ- The NABA World Series was held in the greater Phoenix area during the first few weeks of October allowing hundreds of teams a chance to compete for the title of the NABA 2006 World Series Champions.

The main diamond and base of operations for the event was the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim spring training facility, Diablo Stadium in Tempe. In addition, many other ballparks in the Phoenix area were utilized to handle the multitude of games.

Rain had delayed some games in the beginning of the tournament but make up times were released and all games were completed.  Shane Fugita, President of NABA commented, “The weather had been somewhat of an issue, but now we have warmer temperatures and clear skies.  We look forward to completing this successful event and awarding our champions.”

Noting Diamond’s presence at the event, Fugita said “We are pleased to have Diamond Sports out here in Arizona in support of our biggest event, showing a strong commitment to our newly signed official NABA baseball deal.”

Andrea Gordon, President of Diamond Sports said, “It is great to be here at the NABA World Series.   NABA runs a great tournament with the games running like clockwork at Diablo Stadium.   Diamond is pleased to be partners with an organization like NABA that provides a quality product to its participants.”
